Health and Sickness

A note on Health and Safety this Season:

Is it sickness? Allergies? A case of the grumps?  It can be hard to know. Please see below our list of recommendations.

Please be aware that as long as space allows we offer unlimited make up classes in a semester, allowing you to err on the side of safety with no worry of missed classes. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.

**All recommendations/policies are not medical advice please seek medical evaluation/treatment with any concerns. **

Cough/runny nose

A frequent cough less than three weeks old should be treated as contagious. After that an occasional lingering cough is more open to parental judgment. A high priority to consider is if the child is old enough to properly cover their mouth to help prevent spread.

Runny noses come in a variety of color, duration, and causes. Please use your best judgment. It is often helpful to consider how your child’s mood, energy, and sleep have been affected by stuffy/runny nose to consider if music class is a good decision or not.

Fever

Your child, and their loved one accompanying them should be fever free for at least 24 hours before attending class.

Diarrhea/Vomiting

Your child, and their loved one accompanying them should be free of diarrhea and vomiting for at least 24 hours before attending class.

Eyes

Pink, red, or bloodshot eyes should be kept out of class until evaluated by a physician for conjunctivitis and/or contagiousness.

Rash

A rash with no accompanying fever or symptoms, is at the parent’s judgement to attend class or not. Please see a doctor if concerned.

Exposure to germs is an unavoidable part of childhood/parenthood no matter how careful anyone is or what the policies are. All items handled in class are disinfected between each class to the best of our ability.
